At the Leipzig Spring Fair, the H3A appeared as a tractor unit with a fuel tanker trailer; further variants included 3-way tipper, livestock transporter, road tractor, tanker, as well as special bodies for postal services and the Red Cross, and also as furniture vans. Based on the H3A chassis, around 180 H3B front-entrance buses were built at the LOWA plant in Bautzen.
