The hydrostatic transmission is designed to power both the suction fan and the vehicle. A switch controls variable-displacement pumps and motors to achieve the desired output. The hydrostatic drive's output shaft drives two motors mounted on the gearbox. With the hydrostatic drive engaged, all power is transmitted via hydraulic oil. The pumps for vehicle drive and fan motor are controlled by the HTC unit, which comprises a computer with a display in the driver’s cab. The HTC system automatically controls engine speed and hydraulic pressure for optimum performance. The computer also monitors all oil pressures, oil temperatures, and speeds to ensure they remain within the optimal range.
